When installing or having emergency warning equipment installed on your vehicle make sure that the proper gauge wiring and connectors are used. The wrong size wire gauge or poorly crimped connectors can lead to voltage drops, overheating of wiring, and direct shorts. All of these can lead to lights turning off at critical times, sirens going dead, and other electrical problems that can be extremely hazardous. Vehicle fires are also potentially possible when there are poorly made connections or the wrong types of wiring are used. If you have questions before beginning an installation or having a contractor do it for you, please contact our Technical Service department for more information and recommendations on wiring or connectors.
